The Historic Germantown

In the American Revolutionary war, the British wanted Philadelphia, that’s why they started the Philadelphia Campaign. One of the battles to take control of the city; where the Second Continental Congress was located, was the Battle of Germantown.

The battle was fought on October 4, 1777, at Germantown Pennsylvania. The George Washington failed because of the inclement weather. A heavy fog caused a great deal of confusion among the approaching Americans. As the result, the British army took the capital of Philadelphia.

In Philadelphia we still having some historic treasures to visit, and one of these is the Historic Germantown. A year ago I visited Germantown and took some pictures for my Flickr. Germantown is a long avenue and from my point of few, is not a place you want to discover at the first time. The streets are dirty and you feel you are getting in to the ghetto. The first time I went to Germantown, I did it by myself. I did not have any expectation of finding something great. As soon as I started investigating and photographing I felt delighted and spent the next 3 hours photographing around.
