John Bartram Born in March 23 of 1699 known for being an early American botanist, horticulturist and explorer. He sold plants to George Washington and John Adams, and today, Bartram's Garden is the oldest surviving botanic garden.
The Garden is located on the west bank of Schuylkill River and its been a National Historic Landmark since 1960. Bartram's Garden celebrate many special events like weddings, mothers festivities and much more.
Honestly I did not like driving down there but the ride was worth it. It is a small garden and arboretum compared with others but it beauty its singular. The map it is easy to to follow and the travel do not take more than one hour.
The garden have picnic areas and you can rent a Pavilion. The places it´s also opened on winter where you can bring your kids for sledding in the snow. For bird watchers and photographers you can find many species of migratory birds; and one of the most recent activities of the garden it´s sailing the schuykill River from the Bartram´s dock.
The garden admission is free and for more information you can visit the official web site. https://bartramsgarden.org/
